“Full life” for Tutu despite cancer relapse

Despite a return of his prostate cancer, Archbishop Desmond Tutu insists he is in good health.

He told The Times that he has been receiving treatment with hormones since the cancer returned, and that the prayers of others were helping to keep him alive.

Tutu’s personal assistant, Lavinia Browne, told South Africa’s Independent Online that the cancer has “non-aggressive” and that “as long as he looks after himself he should be able to continue his ministry for many years”.

The return of the cancer has not slowed down the Nobel Laureate and 1999 Sydney Peace Prize recipient. He continues with his busy schedule of lectures and other commitments.

Just on Monday, Tutu was in London’s Grove Park to officiate the opening of the Riverside Health Centre.
